Looking for a well-qualified, experienced and empathetic Dagenham based English tutor who can inspire your child to achieve their very best? Then look no further. I can tutor children from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5; I can also tutor adults. I have a penchant for story and fiction writing, so if you need help with your creative writing, you have come to the right place!
If you fear that you have fallen behind in English, I can help you to catch up. No child should have to suffer because they don’t understand a concept, or struggle to be seen and heard in a class of thirty. Does your child suffer from shyness or social anxiety? The national lockdown has set many children back in their learning, the repercussions of which are still being felt today. One to one or small group tuition in English could be just what your child needs, to get them feeling confident and capable again: in control of their own education. To me, every child truly matters: their ambitions, their goals; their potential. After tuition sessions with me, they will not only meet their expectations, but exceed them.
It might put your mind at ease to know that I:
- Am a school Governor and am therefore conversant with the UK education system and corresponding curriculum for English.
- Am fully DBS checked and on the update service.
- Have 15+ years’ experience of teaching English in schools and colleges.
- Have an MA in Creative Writing.
- Have a CELTA qualification to teach English to speakers of other languages.
- Am an experienced GCSE exam marker for AQA. I have been marking GCSE English exam papers since 2015 with the old syllabus and am still marking now with the new 9-1 curriculum. I am therefore very knowledgeable about what is needed to pass the GCSE English language exam. The specific component I mark is Paper 1 – Explorations in Creative Writing.
Services
I can provide tuition both online and face to face; I can also provide tuition in small groups. Tuition costs more (£5) if you require me to come to you, however, this is subject to availability. All tuition takes place in Dagenham.
For all regular lessons, discounts are available for block bookings of 5 or more sessions (paid for in advance) - please enquire for more information.
